After spending 8 hours glued to the computer screen, it's only normal that end up feeling quite stiff. Your back is the first one to file in the complaint, then your neck and shoulders.

It can easily get annoying and irritating when you are dealing with a stiff back and hurting neck, which is why it is important for everyone to keep their muscles engaged with a little bit of exercise here and there. Living a sedentary lifestyle has gotten more common than you think, and with the pandemic looming large, more people are losing touch with staying active.

There are many exercises that have the ability to revitalize your muscles and get you feeling fresh again.

1. Lunge And Side Bend

A simple exercise to get you started: first, you need to get into the lunge position. After doing so, your right arm should go over your head while your left arm should reach across the body. Hold the pose for a second and then switch the sides. This exercise is great for your hip flexors and lower back.

2. Squat While Touching Toes

This exercise is great for your lower back, ankles, and shoulders. You are going to start off by standing slightly more than your hips widths apart. Then you are going to bend down and touch your toes and then squat while maintaining the earlier position.

3. Lateral Lunge To Plank

This exercise targets your abdomen muscles and your thighs. For this, you are required to do a lunge but laterally, where you’ll extend one leg while keeping the other leg bent. After the lateral Lunge, you will go back to a standing position and use your arms to walk into a plank position. Hold the pose for a few seconds and then repeat.

Bottom Line

Before starting off, though, it is important to note that you should always approve your workouts from a local medical professional if you suffer from any medical condition. When doing the exercise, you should take a few seconds to hold the pose and make sure to take steady and deep breaths. These simple exercises are bound to strengthen your muscles and make them more flexible, helping you get rid of that stiffness that you feel.
